Munich Airport Terminal 2

Munich Airport Terminal 2 handles all Star Alliance and Lufthansa Airlines flights. It consists of two different facilites. 

There is a building with G and H areas, but it is not divided into modules like Terminal 1.

Levels

See Munich Airport Terminal 2 levels: 

Level 2

Level two and three of the first building of Terminal 2 houses the train station and connects the terminal to garage and rental cars, taxis and buses. 

Level 3

This is the Arrivals level. Find here the baggage claim area, customs, information and car rental counters. Outside the terminal, there’s access to both bus and taxi services.

Get from Level 3 to the North Pier and South Pier by bus from boarding gates. 

North Pier

Find boarding gates G1-G28 on level 4 and some food, drink and retail concessions.

On level 5 there are boarding gates H1-H28 and H39-H48, also to L gates. Find some food, drink and retail concessions.

South Pier

Between levels 4 and 5 there are hosted boarding gates G29-G48 and H29-H48, among other facilities regarding food, drink and retail concessions. 

Level 4

This is the Departures level. This level houses check-in facilities and security checkpoint, among some concessions such as stores, restaurants, banking facilities, napcabs, recreation area, VIP lounges, etc. 

Access to boarding gates G1-G48 and K12-K18. 

Level 5

This level is also for departures. 

Boarding gates H1-H48, L11-L19. Find also access to the South Pier and concessions: Stores, restaurants, VIP lounges. 

Midfield Terminal

Midfield Terminal handles areas K to L. It opened in 2016 and increased the total capacity of the airport (about 36 million passengers per year).

Levels

- Level 4: Boarding gates K4-K30, access to Pier South. 
- Level 5: Boarding gates L1-L30.

The facility has all a modern terminal needs: Duty free, shops, restaurants and cafés, baby care facilities, quiet zones, business areas, showers, duty free area, and so on.

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS 

The terminals are separated by the Munich Airport Centre (MAC). 

On the other hand, to transfer to Terminal 2 satellite (Midfield Terminal), there’s the new automated PST (personal transport system) between both locations. Transfer time is about a minute.
