Munich Airport Terminal 1

Munich Airport Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal at Munich Airport, which began operations in 1992.

Terminal 1 handles all non Star Alliance flights and it has a total capacity of 25 million passengers per year. 

Modules

Terminal 1 is divided into A, B, C, D and E modules.

Parts A and D handle Schengen flights and parts B and C handle non-Schengen flights.

There is a separate module, F, that operates flights with increased security requirement, such as that ones to Israel.

Modules A through D provide all the necessary facilities to handle departures and arrivals. 

Levels

After passing Munich Airport Center and the security check, passengers reach Terminal 1. It counts with levels 3, 4 and 5.

Note that Each module of Terminal 1 have similar layouts regarding levels 3, 4 and 5: 

Level 3

Levels 3 gives access to parking and to the Arrivals and Departures upper level. 

Level 4

This is the arrivals and departures level, excepting for Module E. 

Arrivals are located on the east side, whilst Departures on the west side. Note that both areas counts with separate access. 

Note that boarding gates G19-G28 are located on the centre and gates G9-G18 and H1-H8 on the left. 

Level 5

This is the boarding area and hosts several lounges. 

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS

Munich Airport Centre (MAC) is the facility that joints both terminals. To reach Terminal 2 it is compulsory to get across MAC.
